Keep Fats, Oils and Grease out of Storm Drains

PreviousNext

Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) can:

  • Congeal in underground pipes, cause blockages, and possibly damage pipes and cause sewage and contaminants to back up into your home or overflow into parks, yards and streets, where it can end up in storm drains and enter the Rio Grande.
  • Result in contact with disease-causing organisms.
  • Increase calls for a plumber to unclog pipes.
  • Result in unpleasant and expensive cleanups at your expense.
